Quest Order Wiki (questorderwiki.com) is run by Last Hope Marketing Agency. For anything about your data, write to lasthopemarketingagency@gmail.com.
Reading the site
You can read every guide without an account. Ticks such as "Done" on a quest and your spoiler setting are saved only in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us. The pages also load Google AdSense, Google's advertising service (see Advertising).
We count visits ourselves, without cookies. For each page you open we store the page, the date and time, the name of the website that linked you here (if any), your country (worked out from your IP address at that moment; the IP address itself is not stored), whether you use a phone, tablet or computer, and a code that changes every day. The code only lets us count how many different people visited on one day; it can't be used to recognise you on another day or to tell who you are. We do this to know how the site is used (our legitimate interest), and we delete these records after 13 months.
When you create an account
- Email address: used to sign you in and to send you the confirmation and password-reset emails. It is never shown to other people.
- Display name: shown publicly next to your comments.
- Password: stored only as a one-way hash (scrypt). Nobody, including us, can read it.
- Your comments: public, under the quest you wrote them on.
- Your votes on comments (Useful, Funny, Lore): which comment and which kind, kept with your account. Other people see only the totals, never who voted.
- Sign-in sessions: a sign-in cookie in your browser and, on our side, the session with its IP address and browser name, kept until you sign out or the session ends (at most 30 days).
- Security limits: short-lived counters per IP address that stop password guessing and spam.
- The date you accepted this policy.
We use these only to run your account and the comments (the agreement you make when you sign up), and to keep the site safe from abuse (our legitimate interest). We don't sell or share your data and we don't send newsletters.
Advertising
The site uses Google AdSense to show ads. To choose and measure ads, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies, and may use information about your visits to this and other websites to show you personalised ads. Google decides how it uses this data; you can read how at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ad Settings, and many other advertising companies' cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
Cookies
Ours: only the sign-in cookie, which is needed for your account to work. Google's: the advertising cookies described above.
Who processes the data for us
- Vercel hosts the site and runs its server code (in Frankfurt, Germany).
- Neon is the database where accounts and comments are stored (in Frankfurt, Germany).
- Resend sends the confirmation and password-reset emails (from its EU region, Ireland).
- Google shows the ads (Google AdSense; see Advertising).
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. Deleting it (from your account page) removes your account, your comments, your votes and your sessions right away. Accounts whose email is never confirmed are deleted after 30 days. The admin can delete comments that break the rules and block accounts that abuse the site.
Your rights
You can download everything we keep about you and delete your account yourself, from your account page. You can also ask us, at the address above, to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to your data protection authority (in Romania: ANSPDCP, dataprotection.ro).
Age
You must be at least 16 to create an account.
