You have troubled yourself to come all this way. I wonder if I might not trouble you a bit further.
‘You there! Since you look bored, help us chase off these cursed blowflies!’ English politely thanks you for coming so far; French brusquely says you look bored.
‘Since you've come this far anyway, you there, help me get rid of the flies.’ English asks the favor with humble politeness; Japanese asks bluntly and casually.
As you well know, we keep a lichyard here. The scent of death's decay draws blowfly swarms, which are as unclean as they are unwelcome.
‘The putrid smell rising from the graves draws hordes of these insects, and their buzzing gives us migraines even inside the church!’ English objects that the flies are unclean; French objects that their buzzing gives everyone migraines.
Slay five of these pestilent swarms, and the church will be in your debt.
Report to Esmour
.
Thank you, friend. If the swarms were to spread their pestilence at the church unchecked, before long we would need to mourn the mourning.
‘Thank you! Thanks to you, we will finally be able to pray in silence and welcome visitors properly.’ English jokes that pestilence would have them mourning the mourners; French is glad of the silence.
For the time being, at least, the grieving can pray in peace for their dead to cross over safely. Thal bless you.
‘But I fear these flies will come back...’ English is relieved mourners can pray in peace; French fears the flies will return.
‘I'll ask our gravedigger to dig deeper graves.’ English ends with a blessing from Thal; French ends with a plan to dig deeper graves.
‘Otherwise, in the end, there would be nobody at all left to pray for the departed ...’ English is relieved mourners can pray in peace; German grimly notes no one would be left to pray.
‘Honestly, why on earth would anyone come to pray at a place like this?’ English says mourners can now pray in peace; Japanese grumbles about why anyone visits such a place.
