Story

1. 107Life, Materia and Everything

Mutamix Bubblypots is a goblin scholar at the Bonfire in central Thanalan, famous for bringing a new way to strengthen gear to Eorzea.

Mutamix and his students greet you with a lively show. He speaks in short, unusual phrases. He melds materia, a gear-boosting crystal, into Minfilia's weak dagger. He says you need crafting knowledge to meld materia yourself and points you to his students.

2. 108Marvelously Mutable Materia

Mutamix, the goblin scholar, waits nearby, eager to talk about his new discovery.

Mutamix explains that shifty-making melts five unwanted materia into one new piece. He says the process is too complex for you to learn, but offers to do it for you whenever you bring him five pieces.
