Hidden
Lore Belah'dia was an old nation in Thanalan. It was founded by mages from Mhach who fled to the desert after their black magic was blamed for the Sixth Umbral Calamity and magic was outlawed.
Lore 'Thal's realm' is the afterlife. Thal, one of the twin gods that make up Nald'thal, is the judge of the dead, so sending the souls there means letting them rest.
Title reference The title plays on 'blast from the past', something from long ago that turns up again. Here the past is the ghosts of ancient Belah'dia, and the 'blast' is a fight.

Annabel

Adventurer, I would have your ear. Have you perchance visited the ruins south of here? It is said that they date back to the era of the Belah'dians.

As a student of history, I was delighted when my superiors sent me there on patrol. My delight soon turned to dread, however, when I discovered the terrible truth─these ruins are haunted!

  • DE Ich bringe es nicht übers Herz, ihnen entgegenzutreten ... ‘I can't bring myself to face them ...’ English says her delight turned to dread at the haunting; German says she has not the heart to fight them.
  • JA 恥ずかしい話だけど、私じゃ歯が立たないの……。 ‘It's embarrassing to say, but I'm no match for them...’ English says her delight turned to dread at the haunting; Japanese says the dead warriors are too strong for her.

Yes, you heard me right. Specters of Belah'dia haunt the place to this day, and my limited training has hardly prepared me to face such horrors. Would you be so obliging as to take this holy water and shepherd the lost souls to Thal's realm?

Report to Annabel.

Annabel

Remarkable! You adventurers truly are as valiant as they say. I must devote myself to my training, that one day I, too, may be capable of such deeds.

  • DE Endlich sind ihre armen Seelen frei! ‘Finally their poor souls are free!’ English vows to devote herself to training; German rejoices that the poor souls are finally free.
  • JA これで彼らの魂も、ようやくザル神の御許へ……。 ‘Now their souls, too, can finally go to Thal's side...’ English vows to devote herself to training; Japanese says their souls can finally go to Thal.
