How do you fancy Fallgourd Float, traveler? Fine tea, warm beds, good ale, and good company at the Bobbing Cork. Small wonder that it's many a wayfarer's favorite stop on the road to Coerthas.
Speaking of the Bobbing Cork, I was sharing a drink and a tale with a traveler just a few bells ago. Apparently, the poor fellow imbibed a bit too heavily, and when he came to, the key to his room was nowhere to be found.
‘The poor man was attacked by monsters, and he dropped the key to his room.’ English says he drank too much and lost his key; French says monsters attacked him.
‘Only yesterday he was dead drunk again and spent the night somewhere outside the city gates.’ English places the drinking a few bells ago; German says it happened only yesterday.
‘He was chased by monsters outside and flung it away wildly.’ English says he drank too much and lost his key; Japanese says he threw it away while chased by monsters.
What with all the rumors of late, both my friend and the innkeep are worried sick. If you happen to stumble across the key, would you be kind enough to return it to the Cork? You'd be saving more than one man a sleepless night.
‘If we don't find the key, my friend will be banned from there!’ English says rumors have the friend and innkeep worried; German says the friend will be banned from the inn.

Bloody souse! That's why I always say, if you can't hold your liquor, stick to tea! I'm sorry, do you have something for me?
- DE Hm, hier liegt er auch nicht ... ‘Hm, it isn't here either...’ English jokes that drinkers who cannot hold liquor should stick to tea; German has it still searching for something.
- JA …… ‘...This is troublesome, if it isn't there either...’ English jokes that drinkers who cannot hold liquor should stick to tea; Japanese frets that something is not there either.
Why, I've been searching everywhere for that key! You're a godssend, friend.
You must forgive me. There're rumors of late of a suspicious masked man in these parts, and they've got both me and my customers on edge.
‘Ah, but that is just what the prospectors say.’ English says the rumors have it and its customers on edge; Japanese shrugs them off as prospectors' talk.
Anyroad, thanks to you, that ale-swilling fool can sleep soundly in his bed tonight. You'd do well to find safe lodgings as well, friend.
‘Well, at any rate I am glad that a kind soul like you found the key and not that creepy man.’ English says the drunk can sleep soundly tonight; German is glad you, not the creepy man, found the key.
‘Anyway, I am glad it was a conscientious person like you who picked it up.’ English says the drunk can sleep soundly tonight; Japanese is glad an honest person found the key.
