Journal
  1. Amelot needs something, and needs it now.
  2. Amelot needs to prepare an antidote─and quickly─but lacks for a vital ingredient. Use the bottle of leoformic acid she has entrusted to you to slay a rockskin peiste and obtain its poison.
  3. You have obtained a secretion of peiste poison. Deliver it to Amelot with due haste.
  4. As Amelot tells it, the poisons employed by the Corpse Brigade have grown increasingly potent of late, and antidote has been in short supply. Your efforts have made it possible for the Resistance to continue fighting the good fight.
Hidden
Lore The Corpse Brigade is known for its poisons, and it also sells them to the Alacran, the gang the Gladiators' Guild is chasing.
Lore The 'Resistance' Amelot speaks of is the Ala Mhigan Resistance. Many people living in Little Ala Mhigo are its members.
Easter egg 'Leoformic' mixes the Latin words leo, lion, and formica, ant. Fitting, since the acid comes from an antlion.
Title reference 'What's your poison?' is an old way to ask someone what they want to drink. Here the question is literal: Amelot really does need a poison.

What happens in this quest spoilers for this quest
  • Amelot gives you acid to cut a rockskin peiste's stone-hard scales and get its poison. She says sorry for being short with you: the Corpse Brigade uses ever deadlier poisons, and antidotes ran low. She brews potions for the Resistance and thanks you.

Amelot

Adventurer. I fear I've no time for pleasantries, but I would be much in your debt if you could perform for me a simple task.

‘I saw how you lent my comrades a hand.’ English brusquely says she has no time for pleasantries; German greets the player warmly, noting they helped her comrades.

To wit, I need you to slay a rockskin peiste and obtain for me a secretion of its poison.

If you've seen one of those fearsome reptiles─as I reckon you have─you know that their scales are as hard as solid stone.

This acid I give you, however, will cut right through it─I haven't much, so pray use it well.

Some of my countrymen are not quick to trust outsiders, but I've no time to entertain foolish prejudices─this is a matter of life and death.

‘Whoever gets me peiste bile can be sure of a top spot on my list of best friends.’ English stresses it is a matter of life and death; German jokes about a top spot on her best-friends list.

Deliver the peiste poison to Amelot.

Amelot

You return, adventurer. Have you brought me the poison I seek?

//: kill peiste, get poison

Amelot

On behalf of my countrymen, you have my thanks.

Forgive me for my brusqueness before. Our skirmishes with the Corpse Brigade have taken a great toll on us of late. They employ poisons ever more lethal, and our antidote stores were running low.

‘They use a new type of poison that our antidotes are unable to cure.’ English says their antidote stores were running low; French says their antidotes cannot cure the new poison.
‘Oh, I hadn't explained that to you yet, had I?’ English apologizes for her earlier brusqueness; German just realizes she had not explained things yet.
  • JA …… ‘...Huh, didn't I explain?’ English apologizes for her earlier brusqueness; Japanese just realizes she had not explained.

I must attend to my potion-brewing, but thank you, outsider. Because of you, the men and women of the Resistance live to fight another day.

  • JA …… ‘...The rest is up to my own skill and instinct.’ English says the Resistance will live to fight another day; Japanese says the rest depends on her own skill and instinct.
