- Jacke
wishes to give you a few pointers on daggerplay. - To help you get a feel for your new weapons, Jacke
suggests you head to the fields outside Limsa Lominsa and slay some of the local wildlife. Travel to middle La Noscea and defeat three wharf rats, three lost lambs, and three pugils. - You have slain the requisite creatures. Return to the Rogues' Guild and report to Jacke
. - Jacke
welcomes you back from your dagger practice with another nugget of wisdom: in combat, a rogue relies more on agility than brute force. Jacke wants you to get a feel for your new daggers.
What you know from earlier quests 1
- #52 My First Daggers: Jacke asks if you are a pirate, then explains the job. Rogues enforce an old code in Limsa's back alleys: never rob fellow Lominsans, cheat a crew, or trade people. He gives you daggers and says to dress light.

What you know from earlier quests 3
- #4 Way of the Marauder: Wyrnzoen accepts you as a student and sends you to kill lambs, rats and ladybugs outside the city. He teaches that marauders overwhelm their foes. He says you came back harder, and gives you a hunting log of training targets.
- #35 Axe in the Stone: Wyrnzoen sends you to learn the guild's old rock splitting training, then to clear megalocrabs for the Red Rooster Stead. He knows of the fierce beast that killed Sighard's
parents, and warns you are not yet strong enough for revenge. - #51 Wake of Destruction: Wyrnzoen names the beast Kujata, the "Stampeding Mountain", and urges your revenge. He sends you to protect folk from galagos and to save a farmer's spilled cargo from plainstriders. He swears to train you until Kujata falls by your hand.

Accepting the quest
Managed to strap those daggers on without cuttin' yerself? Well, we're off to a good start, I'd say.
- FR On dirait que l'attirail des surineurs te va à merveille, [name]. ‘It looks like the rogue's gear suits you wonderfully, [name].’ English teases that you strapped on the daggers without cutting yourself; French says the rogue gear suits you wonderfully.
Next, ye'll want to get a feel for the weight an' speed o' yer new weapons. I reckon those bleatin' cheats in the fields outside Limsa should serve for yer first lesson.
Aye, test yer blades on a few o' them lambs, then slice up some rats an' pugils for good measure. Mind that ye mill them beasties one at a time, though, lass/lad. I know ye've served far worse in the past, but yer no dimber damber with them stabbers just yet!
Report to Jacke
at the Rogues' Guild.
Head out into the fields an' test yer blades on some o' the local pests. Aye, a few lambs an' rats, an' then some pugils for a bit of a challenge.
Done with yer millin', are ye? Ye can never have enough blade practice, lass/me young colt.
- FR Je n'en attendais pas moins de toi. ‘I expected no less of you.’ English says you can never have enough blade practice; French says he expected no less of you.
- JA へぇ、なかなかいい調子じゃねぇか。 ‘Heh, you're in pretty good form.’ English says you can never have enough blade practice; Japanese praises your good form.
In fact, I'll even add a list o' marks to yer huntin' log. Pit yerself against the lot, an' ye'll soon learn some new steps for yer dance with the daggers.
Aye, ye must think o' yerself as a dancer─not a bleedin' butcher. Ye only need so much force to ram a shortblade in to the hilt.
Precision an' speed─that's how ye get the most outta yer stabbers. Bulky armor'll only have ye ploddin' about like an ungainly aurochs, so make sure yer wearin' gear what'll let ye move freely, as well.
All right? Get yer bladework up to scratch, [name], an' I might just have a job for ye...
