What the Japanese, French and German versions say 3
Japanese
EN Thanks a Million · 'As you have undoubtedly noticed, Swiftperch lacks a certain, shall we say, vital energy? Thus I mean to restore a modicum of hope to its residents by growing a veritable ocean of corn!'
JA 「すべてを奪われた地」, 'The Land Robbed of Everything' · 「見ての通り、ここは寂れた入植地で、誰もが生きることすら諦めている状態……この苗が育てば、皆も少しは希望を持てるでしょう。」, 'As you can see, this is a run-down settlement where everyone has given up even on living... If these seedlings grow, everyone may have a little hope.'
The land in the title is Swiftperch after the Calamity. The English only says it lacks vital energy.
French
EN 'A wagon driver just returned in a great bloody hurry, screamin' about some monstrosity what sprang out from a
millioncorn seedling in his cargo.'
FR «Un pleutre de cocher a pris ses jambes à son cou lorsque des limaces littorales sont sorties de la cargaison de plants de milli-maïs qu'il transportait.», 'A cowardly coachman took to his heels when shore slugs came out of the cargo of
millioncorn seedlings he was carrying.'
Wyrkrhit
names the creatures that sent the driver running. The English only speaks of a monstrosity.
German
EN 'Oh, an' ye'll also find an aetheryte in Swiftperch, so the journey should be worth yer while.'
DE „An der Tölpelturm-Siedlung steht übrigens ein Ätheryt, also kann es sich für dich ohnehin lohnen, da mal vorbeizuschauen.“, 'By the way, there is an aetheryte at the Booby Tower Settlement, so it may be worth your while to drop by anyway.'
„Tölpel“ means both the booby, a seabird, and a clumsy oaf. So the name is also a joke, which the English lacks.
