Accepting the quest

R'ashaht Rhiki

Ah, )()())/> [name]─just the woman/man I was hoping to see. Your exploits of late have been the talk of Limsa.

Don't let this puff your sails up too much, but I've heard some of the higher–ups saying that the Maelstrom would be lost at sea without you.

But I suspect you're not the type to rest on your laurels. Nay, the tempest raging in your eyes tells me you're looking for new waters to navigate.

‘So we are keen to entrust you with more missions, and for that you must keep improving.’ English says you yourself are seeking new challenges; French says the company wants to give you more missions.
‘We place more trust in you, and as a result you will also be assigned far more difficult tasks.’ English says you yourself are seeking new challenges; German says the company will assign you harder tasks.
‘For our part, we hope for even more work from you than now!’ English says you yourself are seeking new challenges; Japanese says the company expects more work from you.

Fortunately, we have just the place for people like you. Have you perchance heard of the Wolves' Den?

It's a proving ground of sorts established by the Eorzean Alliance─a place where the most promising of Grand Company recruits are sent to hone their skills.

The Wolves' Den is to be found just off the shores of La Noscea. The ferry at the Moraby Drydocks in lower La Noscea will grant you passage there.

Upon your arrival, seek out Storm Captain Berkoeya Loetahlsyn. I've let him know that you'll be coming, so you can count on a warm welcome.

Speak with Berkoeya Loetahlsyn at the Wolves' Den.

Berkoeya

I don't recall seein' yer ugly mug around here before. Hm? Ye say that Rhiki sent ye!?

‘Hi! I'm Captain Loetahlsyn, the officer in charge of supervising training at the Wolves' Den!’ English insults your "ugly mug"; French gives a friendly self-introduction.
  • DE Mein Name ist Großsturmbootsmann Berkoeya! ‘My name is Great Storm Boatswain Berkoeya!’ English insults your "ugly mug"; German has him introduce himself by name and rank.
‘My name is Berkoeya Loetahlsyn, storm officer!’ English insults your "ugly mug"; Japanese has him introduce himself by name and rank.

She said she was sendin' a new wolf to the Den─bah! More like the runt of the litter, if ye ask me.

‘Right now, we're organizing a special exercise, open both to grand company members and to volunteers from adventurer brigades.’ English mocks you as the runt of the litter; French announces a special joint training exercise.
‘Currently, here, a joint training... "Crystalline Conflict" is being held by members of each nation's Grand Company and volunteers from adventurer units!!’ English mocks you as the runt of the litter; Japanese announces a joint training exercise.

Ye barely have fangs for the honin', but I guess I'm feelin' godsdamned generous, so I'll throw ye a bone─start yerself off with Crystalline Conflict. Them trainin' bouts are made special for feckless adventurin' types who can't tell sound strategy from a horse's arse.

‘Here, nobody cares about your allegiance, your rank or your reputation: only your skills and your will to win count!’ English says the bouts are for clueless adventurers; French says only skill and the will to win count.
‘Regardless of affiliation, rank, or even past fame, one simply proves oneself with one's own fangs and claws... it is a fiery war of beasts!!’ English says the bouts are for clueless adventurers; Japanese says fighters prove themselves by fang and claw alone.

I still reckon it won't be dawn/sundown before ye run home with yer tail between yer legs, cryin' for yer mum, but ye can have a word with Lieutenant Gungi Zelungi if ye insist on givin' it a go. Ye'll find him outside, assumin' ye can work up the nerve.

‘I won't hide that you may have a hard time... but it's by rubbing up against the other fanatics around here that you'll become a true fighting beast!’ English mocks that you will run home crying for your mum; French promises you will become a true fighting beast.
‘Fight here, keep training, and become a mad dog that bites into the enemy... no, become a ferocious wolf!’ English mocks that you will run home crying for your mum; Japanese urges you to become a ferocious wolf.

And stand up straight, maggot! This ain't no place for the weak of spine. Dismissed!

  • FR Allez, bonne chance ! ‘Go on, good luck!’ English curtly dismisses you; French wishes you good luck.
