Latisha, at the Bismarck restaurant, is upset. A first-time patron has just left without paying his bill.
What you know from earlier quests 1
- #5 Duty Calls: Latisha is surprised that some of her diners evade taxes. She admits this may spoil their appetite, but agrees it serves the city. She promises to alert Mealvaan's Gate if any merchant on the list comes to eat.

R'sushmo is the Bismarck cook who made the runaway patron's meal. She is upset and is finishing a drawing of him.

What happens in this quest spoilers for this quest
- Latisha
is proud of the Bismarck's fine food and service, so being cheated hurts twice as much. Latisha asks you to take R'sushmo's
drawing of the man to the Yellowjackets (the city guard). - R'sushmo
is furious: she put her heart into the grilled dodo (a bird). Like the giant in Jack and the Beanstalk, she threatens to grind his bones for bread. She cannot see why Godebert
wants to question her; a picture should paint a thousand words. - Godebert
wants justice, but says the sketch looks more like the front of a ship than a face. He asks R'sushmo
to come in for questioning. He explains the Yellowjackets were once part of the Knights of the Barracuda, until the Maelstrom took them in.
What the Japanese, French and German versions say 6
Japanese
EN A Thousand Words · 'But what more information does he want that my drawing doesn't already provide!? Isn't a picture supposed to paint a thousand words!?'
JA 「とっておきの人相がき」, 'the Prized Wanted Poster' · 「私が描いた傑作の人相書きさえあれば、ほかの情報なんて不要だと思うのですが……。」, 'With my masterpiece of a wanted poster, I'd have thought no other information was needed...'
The title is ironic. R'sushmo
calls her useless sketch a masterpiece and drawing her best skill after cooking.
EN 'It looks more like the prow of a ship than a man's face!' · 'However, we will need a little bit more to go on than this piece of...art.'
, 'I can't even tell whether it's a Hyur, a Lalafell or a Roegadyn.'
Godebert
can't even tell the race of the face in R'sushmo's
sketch. The English Godebert jokes about a ship's prow instead.
French
EN 'But what more information does he want that my drawing doesn't already provide!? Isn't a picture supposed to paint a thousand words!?'
Hé hé hé...», 'Ah, I know! I'm good at drawing, but actually, my speciality is caricature. Heh heh heh...'
R'sushmo
sees the problem herself: she draws well, but only cartoons. The English R'sushmo can't see what is wrong.
EN 'We spare no effort to ensure that all our patrons enjoy the finest food and hospitality.'
As you surely know, here at the Bismarck we pull out all the stops to please our customers, but now and then we run into unscrupulous people.'
EN 'Grrr... I poured my heart and soul into that grilled dodo...' · 'Please deliver it to Godebert
at the Coral Tower─he will know what to do!' · 'Ah, so you've spoken with Godebert?'
FR «Latisha
vous a rrraconté ?», 'Latisha told you?' · «Avec ça, Godebert
des casaques jaunes lui mettrrra la main dessus à coup sûr !», 'With this, Godebert of the Yellowjackets will get his hands on him for sure!' !», 'I'm sure Godebert caught that oddball in no time... !'
R'sushmo
rolls her r's in everyday words. The English R'sushmo only growls 'Grrr' once.
German
EN 'However, we will need a little bit more to go on than this piece of...art.'
DE „Das kann ja jeder sein! Man erkennt nicht einmal, ob es sich um einen Lalafell oder einen Roegadyn handelt!“, 'That could be anyone! You can't even tell whether it is a Lalafell or a Roegadyn!'
Here too, he is lost. It is a size joke: one race is tiny, the other huge.

Accepting the quest
We spare no effort to ensure that all our patrons enjoy the finest food and hospitality. And so it is doubly hurtful when someone decides to leave without settling the bill. Nary a bell ago, a first-time patron did just that.
‘As you surely know, here at the Bismarck we pull out all the stops to please our customers, but now and then we run into unscrupulous people.’ Latisha
uses the idiom for going all out to feed guests.
Speak to R'sushmo
Grrr... I poured my heart and soul into that grilled dodo... If I ever get my hands on that scoundrel, I'll grind his bones to make my bread!
- FR Latisha
vous a rrraconté ? ‘Latisha
told you?’ R'sushmo
rolls her r's in everyday words. The English R'sushmo only growls 'Grrr' once. ‘Me, it sickens me to see that there are people dishonest enough not to pay for the dishes we prepare with such care!’ English has her threaten to grind his bones for bread; French has her say it sickens her.
‘You slave away to find the best ingredients and polish a recipe for days, and what is the thanks?’ English has her threaten to grind his bones for bread; German has her ask bitterly what thanks she gets.
‘Running off without paying for food we made with love, that's unforgivable!’ English has her threaten to grind his bones for bread; Japanese has her just call it unforgivable.
Here it is, my
rendition of the criminal! Please deliver it to Godebert
at the Coral Tower─he will know what to do!
Deliver the
rendition to Godebert
at the Coral Tower
A bilker at the Bismarck, and you have an
artist's rendition of the man?
Er...what in the seven hells is this supposed to be? It looks more like the prow of a ship than a man's face!
‘Well, we're going to do our best to catch this rogue.’ English jokes the sketch looks like a ship's prow, not a face; French just promises to do their best.
‘W-well, composite sketches really are important so that we Yellowjackets can do our work.’ English jokes the sketch looks like a ship's prow, not a face; German stammers that sketches are really important.
‘Th-this sketch is... Since a report has been made, we shall do our utmost.’ English jokes the sketch looks like a ship's prow, not a face; Japanese just promises to do their utmost.
Look, we would like nothing more than to bring the offender to justice─'tis our duty, after all. However, we will need a little bit more to go on than this piece of...art.
‘That could be anyone! You can't even tell whether it is a Lalafell or a Roegadyn!’ Here too, he is lost. It is a size joke: one race is tiny, the other huge.
‘Hard to say whether it is a Hyur, a Lalafell or even a Roegadyn...’ French jokes that the sketch does not even show the man's race; English just sneers at the 'art'.
Speak with R'sushmo
Ah, so you've spoken with Godebert
? Bwahahaha! Within the bell, the Yellowjackets will have that swindling scoundrel locked in a dungeon cell, and then I'll take my filleting knife and─
‘You see, I'm not only a gifted cook, but also a talented artist!’ English ends with her reaching for a filleting knife; German ends with her boasting she is a talented artist too.
‘Me, I was always good at drawing, second only to cooking!’ English ends with her reaching for a filleting knife; Japanese ends with her boasting drawing is her second talent.
But what more information does he want that my drawing doesn't already provide!? Isn't a picture supposed to paint a thousand words!?
‘With my masterpiece of a wanted poster, I'd have thought no other information was needed...’ The title is ironic. R'sushmo
calls her useless sketch a masterpiece and drawing her best skill after cooking. ‘Ah, I know! I'm good at drawing, but actually, my speciality is caricature. Heh heh heh...’ R'sushmo
sees the problem herself: she draws well, but only cartoons. The English R'sushmo can't see what is wrong. ‘Oh well, if it helps the pursuit of the culprit ...’ English ends on an indignant saying about a picture's thousand words; German has her grudgingly agree if it helps.
