Hidden
Easter egg 'Druthers' is an informal American word for wishes or preferences. It comes from 'I'd rather', so Buscarron's Druthers is a place named for what you would rather have.
Title reference 'Spirited away' means carried off in secret or by magic. It fits the sylph elder, who walked into the forest and has not come back.
Characters 4
  • Vorsaile Heuloix

Vorsaile Heuloix is at the Adders' Nest, curious about your talks with the sylphs.

What you know from earlier quests 2
    • #114 Sylph-management: You find Vorsaile thinking out loud. He knows too little about the sylphs and wants help from the Scions. He apologizes for his habit of thinking aloud and asks what brings you.
    • #115 We Come in Peace: Vorsaile fears the sylphs' link to the primal Ramuh could upset the peace with Gridania. He wants to hear the sylphs of Little Solace through a neutral go-between. He warns that sylph manners differ from ours and sends you to the Hawthorne Hut.
  • Komuxio

Komuxio promised to take you to the elder, but has something to confess.

What you know from earlier quests 4
    • #118 First Contact: Komuxio distrusts strangers until you dance for him. He loves the milkroot and agrees to pass on the letter. When Yda and Papalymo arrive as envoys from Gridania, he feels tricked, refuses, and says the elder has no words for Gridania.
    • #120 Forest Friend: Komuxio is pleased with the brownie brushes, since he can dye thread again. He hates the biting, buzzing beasts you killed. He admits few visitors are this friendly and thinks he was wrong not to trust you.
    • #121 Presence of the Enemy: Komuxio fears steel-clad strangers from the Empire, who kill and burn forests. He sends you to ask around, marks their hideout on your map, and reads the log you find. Its supplies come from the sylphs' home, so he suspects a traitor.
    • #122 Brotherly Love: Komuxio begs you to find his friend Claxio before beasts or tempered sylphs take him, and tells you to follow spools of thread. Overjoyed at the rescue, he calls you a hero and wants to take you to the elder, but hesitates.
  • Giah Molkoh

Giah Molkoh is at Bentbranch Meadows and can call on the Wood Wailers.

  • Buscarron

Buscarron owns Buscarron's Druthers in the South Shroud, a place that serves drink and food.

Komuxio

This one must ask kind one's forgiveness. This one made promise to take kind one to see elder one, yes? But this one cannot...

This one cannot because...elder one is not here. Elder one is not anywhere. Elder one went into forest yesterday, but has not come back...

This one is worried. Elder one often goes into forest, but never, never for this long. Kind one will help find elder one, yes?

Near where elder one disappeared is the home of a walking one named Buscarron. Buscarron may know what happened to elder one.

This one would talk to Buscarron...but walking ones do not always trust these ones. Would kind one talk to Buscarron for this one?

And kind one comes from Gridania, yes? In Gridania live many kind ones, yes?

This one begs of kind one. Please go to Gridania and ask fellow kind ones for help. And please hurry─these ones are not safe until elder one returns.

  • JA 黙ってココを離れたら、怒られるかもしれないでふっち。 ‘If you leave here without a word, you might get scolded.’ English says the sylphs are unsafe until the elder returns; Japanese says the player might get scolded for leaving unannounced.

Speak with Vorsaile Heuloix at the Adders' Nest.

Vorsaile

Well, if it isn't our intrepid ambassador. How fare your diplomatic efforts with the sylph tribes?

Their elder's gone missing, you say!? Why, if he were to end up in the hands of the tempered ones, we'd have a crisis on our hands.

You can assure the sylphs that my sharpest-eyed Serpents will be on the lookout night and day.

No stone must be left unturned. I would ask you to call upon Giah Molkoh at Bentbranch Meadows and deliver the message that the Wood Wailers are needed in the search effort.

Speak with Giah Molkoh at Bentbranch Meadows.

Giah Molkoh

A message from Commander Heuloix, you say?

The sylph elder has vanished? Worry not, friend─the Wood Wailers have eyes under every leaf, behind every branch. If the elder is anywhere in these forests, we shall find him.

Speak with Buscarron at Buscarron's Druthers.

Buscarron

Well met, adventurer! We have the finest grog and grub this side of─ Eh? Not here to fill your belly, then?

Ahhh, a hunger for news, is it? Aye, there's been talk of a sylph lurking hereabouts, but I couldn't rightly say if it be the elder you seek.

  • FR Je ne me souviens pas vous avoir déjà servi(e), mais soyez la/le bienvenu(e) et dites-moi ce qui vous ferait plaisir. ‘I don't remember serving you before, but welcome, and tell me what would please you.’ English mentions talk of a sylph lurking nearby; French has Buscarron say he does not remember serving the player.
  • JA お前さん、この辺りでは、あまり見ない顔だな。 ‘You, yours is not a face I see much around here.’ English mentions talk of a sylph lurking nearby; Japanese has Buscarron note he rarely sees the player's face here.

Those woodland scamps all look alike. Short of painting one red and another one blue, most folk would struggle to tell two of 'em apart.

  • FR Hum, je vais tâcher de mener mon enquête. ‘Hmm, I'll try to carry out my own investigation.’ English jokes that sylphs all look alike; French has Buscarron promise to investigate instead.
  • JA よし、俺も調べておいてやろう。 ‘All right, I'll look into it too.’ English jokes that sylphs all look alike; Japanese has Buscarron promise to look into it instead.

If you've the time, mayhap you could stay a while and see what the gods have in store. You never know, you might even stumble across this sylph elder yourself.
