Vorsaile Heuloix, High Serpent Commander of the Twin Adder, has high hopes for you and wants you to train harder.

What you know from earlier quests 7
    • #92 My Little Chocobo (Twin Adder): Vorsaile calls you an example to your fellow Serpents for your work for Gridania. Vorsaile explains how to get a chocobo: trade company seals with the quartermaster for a Serpent Chocobo Issuance, then show it to Cingur.
    • #97 Wood's Will Be Done: The personnel officer suggests you speak with High Serpent Commander Vorsaile Heuloix before leaving, as he may help you on your journey.
    • #98 Sylph-management: You find Vorsaile thinking out loud. He knows too little about the sylphs and wants help from the Scions. He apologizes for his habit of thinking aloud and asks what brings you.
    • #100 We Come in Peace: Vorsaile fears the sylphs' link to the primal Ramuh could upset the peace with Gridania. He wants to hear the sylphs of Little Solace through a neutral go-between. He warns that sylph manners differ from ours and sends you to the Hawthorne Hut.
    • #120 Spirited Away: Vorsaile fears a crisis if the tempered sylphs get hold of the elder. He puts his sharpest-eyed soldiers on watch and sends you to Giah Molkoh to bring the Wood Wailers into the search.
    • #132 Believe in Your Sylph: Vorsaile reads Frixio's letter and is relieved: the sylphs want no conflict and do not plan to summon Ramuh. He says Gridania can now face bigger threats, and he thanks you for your great service.
    • #133 Back from the Wood: Vorsaile says the Elder Seedseer was pained by the idea of war with the sylphs and means to seek a way to reverse the tempering. He thanks the Scions of the Seventh Dawn for mediating and sends his regards to Minfilia.
  • Gungi Zelungi

Gungi Zelungi is a lieutenant at the Wolves' Den, a training ground for Grand Company recruits.

Listen well, )()())/> [name]. The Order of the Twin Adder does not just welcome glory-seekers willy-nilly into our ranks.

‘In view of your record of service, the Order of the Twin Adder has high hopes for you.’ English warns the Order does not admit glory-seekers lightly; French says the Order has high hopes for you.
  • DE Die Bruderschaft der Morgenviper setzt große Hoffnungen in dich. ‘The Order of the Twin Adder places great hopes in you.’ English warns the Order does not admit glory-seekers lightly; German says the Order has great hopes for you.
‘Will you hear me out? We of the Twin Adder have very great expectations of you.’ English warns the Order does not admit glory-seekers lightly; Japanese says they have great expectations of you.

You stand here today because we believe in your potential. We believe that you will go forth as a Serpent and help restore order to a world gone mad.

...And yet, potential alone will not carry you far. Indeed, the road to glory is littered with the bodies of would-be heroines/heroes who lacked the determination and diligence to hone their innate talents.

But you will not suffer the same fate─I am certain of it. It is with such high hopes for your future that I would send you to begin the next phase of your training.

The venue shall be the Wolves' Den, a proving ground established by the Eorzean Alliance to prepare Grand Company recruits for the battles that lie ahead.

The Wolves' Den is to be found just off the shores of La Noscea. The ferry at the Moraby Drydocks in lower La Noscea will grant you passage there.

Upon your arrival, seek out Storm Captain Berkoeya Loetahlsyn. I have already taken the liberty of submitting a letter of recommendation on your behalf.

Berkoeya

I don't recall seein' yer ugly mug around here before. Hm? Ye say that Heuloix sent ye!?

‘I'm Captain Loetahlsyn, the officer in charge of supervising the training at the Wolves' Den!’ English opens by insulting your ugly mug; French opens with a friendly self-introduction.
  • DE Mein Name ist Großsturmbootsmann Berkoeya! ‘My name is Storm Captain Berkoeya!’ English opens by insulting your ugly mug; German opens with him introducing himself.
‘My name is Storm Captain Berkoeya Loetahlsyn!’ English opens by insulting your ugly mug; Japanese opens with him introducing himself.

He said he was sendin' a new wolf to the Den─bah! More like the runt of the litter, if ye ask me.

‘Right now we're organizing a special exercise, open to Grand Company members and adventurer volunteers alike.’ English mocks you as the runt of the litter; French announces a special training exercise.
‘Here at present, joint training by members of each nation's Grand Company and volunteers from adventurer units... "Crystalline Conflict" is being held!!’ English mocks you as the runt of the litter; Japanese announces joint training for Grand Company members and adventurers.

Ye barely have fangs for the honin', but I guess I'm feelin' godsdamned generous, so I'll throw ye a bone─start yerself off with Crystalline Conflict. Them trainin' bouts are made special for feckless adventurin' types who can't tell sound strategy from a horse's arse.

‘Good old competition between soldiers, just how I like it!’ English mocks you as barely having fangs to hone; French praises good old competition between soldiers.
‘Here, nobody cares about your allegiance, your rank or your reputation: only your skills and your will to win count!’ English says the bouts are for feckless adventurers clueless at strategy; French says allegiance, rank and reputation don't matter.
‘That is to say, person-versus-person combat training!’ English mocks you as barely having fangs to hone; Japanese explains it is person-versus-person combat training.
‘Regardless of affiliation or rank, let alone past fame, you prove your existence with nothing but your own fangs and claws... a fiery battle of beasts!!’ English says the bouts are for feckless adventurers clueless at strategy; Japanese says affiliation, rank and fame don't matter.

I still reckon it won't be dawn/sundown before ye run home with yer tail between yer legs, cryin' for yer mum, but ye can have a word with Lieutenant Gungi Zelungi if ye insist on givin' it a go. Ye'll find him outside, assumin' ye can work up the nerve.

‘I won't hide that you may have a rough time... but it's by rubbing up against the other resident maniacs that you'll become a true fighting beast!’ English predicts you'll run home crying for your mum; French promises you'll become a true fighting beast.
‘Fight here, keep training, and become a fierce dog that sinks its teeth into the enemy... no, become a ferocious wolf!’ English predicts you'll run home crying for your mum; Japanese urges you to become a ferocious wolf.

And stand up straight, maggot! This ain't no place for the weak of spine. Dismissed!

  • FR Allez, bonne chance ! ‘Go on, good luck!’ English barks at you as a maggot; French wishes you good luck.
